John was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri. He attended Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas, and graduated with a BBA in Finance.  He then went on to St. Louis University School of Law in St. Louis, Missouri, where he earned his JD in law.

Before starting Kitchin Law Firm, John gained more experience outside of being an attorney. He served on active duty in the United States Marine Corps as a Military lawyer and was honorably discharged as a Captain.

After the Marines, he held the position as Assistant District Defender in Johnson County, KS. As Assistant District Defender, he handled over 550 felony criminal cases. He was then given the opportunity as managing attorney for one of the largest traffic law firms in the state of MO.

Located in Leawood, KS, John Kitchin actively practices in handling traffic violation and criminal defense cases throughout Kansas and Missouri.
